The Learning Center of South Park

Welcome to the Learning Center of South Park (TLC). Our preschool focuses on early childhood education, with services that include full and part-time child care. We cater to families that want the best for their children.

Here at The Learning Center, we believe in offering children the best start in life.

You’ll find out about our programs and curriculum on this website. More than mere daycare, we offer a solid educational foundation for your child. Children who start in this preschool excel in school afterward.

Compare our programs, rates, and quality, and then make the right choice for your child.

When you are ready, please schedule a tour of the school. School Director Helen Batie will be happy to answer all of your questions in person.

Orlando Daycare that Develops Your Child

The Learning Center’s goal is to empower children to become active participants in their education. Our Orlando Nursery School provides unique opportunities for hands-on inquiry and discovery. There are plenty of gross motor skills and possibilities for free and symbolic play offered by a secure and well-equipped playground. Additional services, such as computer and athletic programs, are also available in our Orlando daycare.

We believe that we need to get to know our new children, figuring out their learning styles, and tailoring our instruction to their particular requirements so they may thrive. As the new child becomes used to the surroundings, instructors, and other students in our Orlando childcare, we begin the evaluation process by documenting the child’s abilities and utilizing the VPK assessment instruments to record these observations.

Unlike many Orlando Daycares, we are a full-experience preschool with a well-established curriculum.

The Learning Center is also in a great location – right in Orlando, in the South Park business area.

Common Parent Questions

Do you follow a curriculum?

Unique among daycare centers in Orlando, FL, we apply the High Scope Curriculum, which aligns with how children learn.

The Reggio Emilia Approach underpins our approach to teaching.

Perhaps the most difficult lesson any parent or teacher must learn is to allow a child to live comfortably in their youthful world and encourage them to discover and follow their self-chosen paths to knowledge and maturity.

What are your hours?

We are open all year long, except for the National Holidays and the last Thursday and Friday of July to hold our Professional Development Training.

We are open Mon. through Friday from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm.

Does my child need to be potty-trained?

For the most part, daycare centers in Orlando, FL, teach youngsters how to use the toilet. In our Orlando daycare, we start the potty training program at various stages during learning how to use the toilet.

Our team has a long history of successfully assisting this procedure!

How much does child care cost in Orlando?

Although The Learning Center is unique in providing a high-quality curriculum based on the Reggio Emelia approach, we still manage to keep your tuition rates reasonable.

For more information, please read this page.

What ages of children do you accept?

Orlando daycare centers provide different services depending on the age ranges.

Here in our Orlando Childcare Center, we offer a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children aged six weeks to five/six years of age (depending on date of birth).

Do you provide meals and snacks?

Nutritious morning and afternoon snacks are included in the price of your child’s care at The Learning Center.

Note that children attending the 9 am – 2 pm sessions only receive a morning snack – full-time children receive snacks both morning and afternoon.
